A Look Back at Allergy Apparel's Journey: From T-Shirts to Medicine Bags

19th Oct 2023

Hello, Allergy Apparel community!

Today, we're taking a stroll down memory lane to 2010 when Allergy Apparel was featured in Richmond Magazine. It's incredible to see how far we've come in our mission to support individuals with allergies.

Allergy Apparel was inspired by a very personal journey. Eighteen years ago, my son, River,  was diagnosed with allergies. It was a life-changing moment that set me on a path I could have never predicted. In 2008, I decided to create Allergy Apparel, and River's diagnosis was the spark.

I wanted to offer allergy awareness shirts that not only brought attention to a kiddo's allergy but did so in a stylish way. So, I chose the iconic skull and crossbones design, which not only made a bold statement but also symbolized the danger that certain foods posed to us.

Back then, Dr. Michael Blumberg, who was the managing partner and director of clinical research with Virginia Adult Pediatric Allergy and Asthma, spoke about our products in the article. He mentioned that our Allergy Apparel t-shirts helped raise awareness of the problem in a supportive and non-anxiety-inducing way. It's a statement that still resonates with our mission today.

Our journey began with clothing, but over the years, our focus has shifted to creating functional and stylish medicine bags that make managing allergies a breeze. While Dr. Blumberg has since retired, our commitment to your well-being has only grown stronger.

We want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of our Allergy Apparel community. It's your support and your stories that inspire us to keep raising awareness and providing support for those with allergies. Our dedication remains unwavering.

We'd love to hear your thoughts, your experiences with our products, and any stories you'd like to share. Please feel free to share in the comments below. Your stories are a vital part of our history, and we're excited to continue this journey with you.

As we celebrate this throwback moment, we're also excited to announce that our main focus is now on creating medicine bags, designed to make your lives easier and safer. Stay tuned for more updates on our latest products, and remember that your health and well-being are at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey. Here's to many more years of supporting and empowering those with allergies!

Warm regards,

Theresa Marie Green
